Residents and non-residents can join city’s senior center
The Beavercreek Senior Center, located at 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road, serves Beavercreek residents and non-residents who are ages 55 and better. The center’s mission is to provide a safe, fun, quality environment where seniors may gather for a variety of activities and programs that promote health, fitness, education, recreation and friendship.
Memberships to the Senior Center allow free use of the facilities, as well as discounts on classes, members-only special events, a subscription to the monthly newsletter and more. Memberships are available for a year from date of purchase. A membership for a Beavercreek city or township resident costs $35 per year, while a membership for a non-resident costs $55 per year.
Some may be eligible for a membership free of charge through a program called SilverSneakers, which is a fitness and wellness program offered to seniors who are 65 and older on eligible Medicare plans. A staff member or volunteer at the center is able to check if someone is eligible for this program. If the person is eligible, they will be provided with a free membership that includes the same benefits as the center’s traditional membership.
The center also offers a transportation program for Beavercreek residents who are 55 or older. The center’s vans are handicap-accessible, with lift and camp capabilities. Transportation inside of city limits is not limited, but outside of city limits is limited to medical appointments only.
