Auditor recognized

- STAFF REPORT

Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith earned recognition as a “Distinguished County Auditor” at the County Auditor’s Association recent summer conference in Newark. Licking County Auditor Michael Smith, CAAO President, presented Keith with his award at the conference.

To earn the “Distinguished County Auditor” designation, Keith completed more than 100 continuing education hours during his current term as auditor, more than the 24 hours auditors are required to earn under state law. Only 27 of 88 county auditors in Ohio earned this distinction this term, and this is the fourth time Keith has earned this designation.

Keith is a past recipient of the CAAO’s Outstanding County Auditor award and the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Lifetime Achievement Award. His office has earned the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year for the past 22 years.

Keith has served as Montgomery County Auditor since December 2000. He has served in numerous leadership positions with the CAAO, including as the association’s president.
