Garrett suffers dislocated toe during Pro Bowl Games
Unfortunately for Myles Garrett, what happens in Vegas isn’t staying in Vegas this weekend.
Garrett suffered a dislocated toe while participating Sunday in the Pro Bowl Games, the Browns confirmed.
X-rays were negative for a fracture.
Garrett was apparently participating in the Gridiron Gauntlet, racing Carolina’s Brian Burns in an obstacle course that included climbing over walls, when the injury occurred.
Garrett started to limp off the field and then sat down in pain. The Browns and Garrett are lucky that the injury wasn’t more serious and that he should be fine soon.
Garrett is one of four Browns players who participated in the revamped Pro Bowl Games, which included a skills competition and some flag football games. The others are guards Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller, and running back Nick Chubb.
Garrett participated in the dodgeball game on Thursday and the Gridiron Gauntlet on Sunday.
The Gauntlet, according to the NFL, is “a side-byside relay race showcasing strength, speed and agility; five players from each conference will compete to see who finishes first and wins three points for his team.
The four-part Gauntlet, each segment 40-yards in length, includes a series of breakaway walls, a section of climbing over walls and under tables, a tire run and a blocking sled carrying a Legend coach across the finish line.”
Fortunately for Garrett, he doesn’t have any football activity until the Browns offseason program begins in April.
He played most of the season with a badly sprained left shoulder and injured right biceps from flipping his Porsche on Sept. 26th.
Despite the injuries, he missed only one game after the accident, and tied his career-high of 16.0 sacks, the team record he set in 2021.
