ENGLEWOOD (Feb. 27) — A employee of Walmart reported another employee was seen taking items from the grocery department into another department and placing the items in shopping bags. The woman then allegedly went out of the store without paying for what was determined to be $59 worth of items. The woman was arrested for theft by police who said they found she also was wanted on a warrant from the Dayton Police Department. She was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

ENGLEWOOD (Feb. 23) — After stopping a vehicle because of an expired registrati­on, police found a passenger was in violation of an active protection order that had been issued for the driver of the vehicle. The driver said she didn’t think the order was still active because she didn’t go to the court hearing when scheduled. Police told her the order was active and took the passenger to the Montgomery County Jail.

ENGLEWOOD (Feb. 16) — Police stopped a truck around midnight after seeing it drive outside its lane of traffic and then go through a red light. The driver appeared confused and couldn’t explain where he was going. He was asked to do field sobriety tests but could not complete the testing. He was charged with DUI, failing to obey traffic control devices and driving without a valid license. He was taken to the county jail.

MONROE TWP., Miami County (Feb. 25) — A sheriff ’s deputy was called to an Ohio 571 property on a complaint about damage apparently caused during an attempt to toilet paper trees. The property owners asked for documentat­ion of the incident and charges against everyone involved. The report stated the case is pending.

FLETCHER (Feb. 26) — A Miami County sheriff’s deputy on patrol saw a man walking on the side of the road around 11:30 p.m. The man was stopped and identified. He was subsequent­ly arrested on an out-of-county warrant and taken to the county jail.
