Preschool teacher Gnau honored

The Mad River School District is pleased to announce that Mad River preschool teacher Deb Gnau has been nominated to apply for the 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year. The Ohio Teacher of the Year program honors, promotes and celebrates excellence in teaching and the teaching profession.

Ohio Teacher of the Year applicatio­ns go through regional selection, where one teacher is selected as teacher of the year for each of the 11 State Board of Education districts around Ohio. Then the applicatio­ns of those 11 in the cohort move forward to the state-level Ohio Teacher of the Year selection process.

Stebbins duo win national BPA honors

Congratula­tions to Stebbins High School seniors Jakcrus Huynh and Aaron Cupp for their big wins at the Business Profession­als of America National Championsh­ip in California. Jakcrus was named a national champion in advance accounting, while Aaron placed in the top 10 in the nation in personal financial management.

Stebbins senior succeeds at SkillsUSA

Stebbins HS senior Lena Ho was recognized at the SkillsUSA Ohio state championsh­ip for earning “The President’s Volunteer Service Award.” Lena will be recognized at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this summer.

Brantwood students busy with STEM

The Wizards of Wright program recently worked with Brantwood fourth-graders. These budding student engineers worked on creating first-class roller coasters just in time for summer.

Wizards of Wright (WOW!) is a Wright-Patterson Air Force Base educationa­l outreach program that offers a series of STEM activities for students and families to do at home.
