PAM Health, Kettering Health team up for new rehab facility
Kettering Health facilities in Kettering, Miamisburg will transition inpatient rehab services to hospital.
Post Acute Medical Inc. (PAM) and Kettering Health will soon be opening a 62-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the Dayton region, which will result in Kettering Health transitioning its inpatient rehab services from Kettering Health Miamisburg and the Kettering Health Main Campus to this new, larger facility.
The new facility will offer additional, expanded offerings and increases access to specialty care in the area, a Kettering Health spokesperson told the Dayton Daily News. Inpatient rehab services at Kettering Health Hamilton will remain unchanged.
Kettering Health is also working with inpatient rehab staff to “help them understand opportunities that are available, whether within Kettering Health or at the
new facility with PAM, as they continue their work of caring for our communities,” a spokesperson said.
“The transition is still in progress, and we continue collaborating with our team members to help them find their best fit,” Kettering Health said.
PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miamisburg is currently slated to open this month at 2310 Crosspointe Drive in Miamisburg. The new facility will be Pennsylvania-based PAM Health’s second hospital in Ohio, joining PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Dayton,
which is also part of Kettering Health Miamisburg (formerly Sycamore Medical Center).
“PAM Health is excited to bring comprehensive care for rehabilitation patients with complex conditions to the Dayton community,” said Anthony Misitano, PAM Health chairman and CEO. “Throughout all the communities we serve, we put the patient first and provide comprehensive, individualized treatment that fosters meaningful improvement and recovery for people with injuries, illnesses
and disabilities.”
The new hospital will serve patients who have experienced stroke, brain injury, neurological disease and deficits, amputations, pulmonary disease, orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injury, and medically complex conditions. Doctors there will aim to help patients increase strength and endurance for an improved quality of life.
“Kettering Health and PAM Health are both committed to meeting the healthcare needs of our communities,” said Erica Schneider, chief operating officer of Kettering Health Main Campus and interim leader of Kettering Health Miamisburg. “This joint venture will connect patients to expanded services and extend the reach of compassionate care in the area.”
The inpatient rehab hospital, which also will offer outpatient services, is opening near PAM Health’s specialty hospital in Dayton.
Headquartered near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the PAM chain provides postacute health care services through more than 40 longterm acute care and medical rehabilitation hospitals, as well as 18 outpatient physical therapy locations in 12 states.
