WARREN COUNTY HEALTH INSPECTIONS
The following are summaries of the state of Ohio standard inspection reports on file from the Warren County Combined Health District, from the weeks of July 31 to Aug. 11. District information is available online at www.wcchd. com.
Muddy Goose Coffee Co.
465 N. Main St., Springboro
Date of inspection: Aug. 2 Violations: Bulk food for customer self-service not properly labeled. Observed several boxes of assorted milk/dark chocolate pieces in grab and go area not properly labeled with proper product label identity and ingredient lists. Note: Gave operator an example of required labeling. The PIC will inform owner of requirement. Meanwhile, items in question were pulled from sale until labeling is corrected. Correct By: 02-Aug-2023.
Observed several damp rags (especially the rags used for steam frother) not being stored in sanitation water, as required. The PIC corrected immediately. Note: Discussed in detail the proper method. Correct By: 02Aug-2023.
FSO did not have a person in charge per shift with the person in charge certification in food protection. Corrective Action: Gave operator a handout for educational options. Correct By: 02-Oct-2023.
Comments: Ensure the noted findings are corrected before next routine inspection. Otherwise, the food and equipment temperatures checked were within required parameters and the facility was exceptionally clean and organized at time of inspection. Good job!
Donut Shop
742 Columbus Ave., Lebanon
Date of inspection: Aug. 7 Violations: Corrected during inspection. PIC unable to demonstrate knowledge by having no critical violations. Correction: all critical violations were corrected on sight and discussed with the PIC.
Corrected during inspection. Employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. No employee health agreement in the facility. Correction: employee health agreement was discussed and provided for the facility. Owner will have all the employees read, sign and date the agreement. Corrected during inspection. Improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. Observed a bottle of cleaner on top of the prep cooler. Correction: bottle of cleaner was moved to proper chemical storage area.
Observed a container of sugar and several containers of icing without proper labels. Please label all working food containers. Can opener blade dull or creating metal fragments. Can opener had metal shavings coming off the blade. Correction: replace the can opener blade to prevent metal shavings from contaminating food.
Mop stored in the bathroom was not properly hang dried. To prevent microbial growth, please hang dry mops.
RFE does not comply with Person in Charge Certification requirements. Facility must have one employee per shift with a Person in Charge certification. Link for the class will be e-mailed with the report.
Comments: Facility is clean at the time of inspection, all temperatures are within range.
