Hanes Road Carryout

1592 Hanes Road, Beavercreek Date of inspection: Jan. 3 Violations: Found no paper towels at either the hand sink by the ware washing area or in the employee restroom. PIC stated the delivery of supplies was not due until 1-4-24. Assure when the facility is out of paper towels, that staff obtain paper towels from a local business for use until supplies can be delivered. Found raw shelled eggs for retail sale stored above packaged sour cream in the counter top refrigerator. Shelled eggs shall be stored below any ready to eat food to prevent possible contamination. Discussed with PIC.

Found a piece of plywood on the floor under beverages in the small walk-in. All bare wood shall be sealed to prevent absorption of moisture and shelving shall be maintained 6 inches off of the floor for cleaning purposes. The three compartment sink and surrounding area shall be kept clean and free of litter. Found interior door frames to cooler doors (by cashier) visibly soiled. Clean interior of cooler doors more frequently. Found litter and plastic pieces under wire shelving in the large walk-in cooler. Clean floors and under shelving more frequently to maintain clean. Found the floors under the three compartment sink and mop sink soiled. Clean and maintain area free of dirt. Found the back storage room cluttered and the ceiling area with cobwebs and insects. Areas where food and beverages are stored must be maintained clean and free of possible contamination.

Remove clutter and clean this area. All food/ and loose drink containers shall be stored off of the floor. Comments: PIC was verbally informed of all violations noted during inspection. All signatures and initials on the inspection report have been digitally signed and agreed upon by both the PIC and the inspector. Inspection report will be emailed to PIC. Went over the proper process for washing, rinsing and sanitizing any food contact surface with employee on site. The three compartment sink shall be maintained clean for the warewashing process of coffee/cappuccino machine parts.

El Toro

1375 N. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek Date of inspection: Jan. 2 Comments: Investigated a complaint of drain flies by a customer. Stated drain flies were around their booth and food in the dining area. Met with Sergio. He provided pest control reports indicating the company is treating drain flies. I visibly saw several under the three compartment sink at the bar and a few around the prep sink in the kitchen. None were visible around the dishwashing area. The next application is due 7-10 days. Sergio will notify me of progress. Considered complaint abated. Informed complainant. NOTE: While on site, observed most of the tile base coving loose from the wall under the dishwashing area. The facility is using water flushing to clean floors and this has eroded the grout from between the tiles. This will also cause water to seep beneath the floor tiles, allowing conditions for insects to harbor. Discussed with manager the need to have this area dried and re-grouted to seal all cracks from allowing water to enter.
