The Mad River school district opened its doors to a vibrant assembly of families, educators and community members for its annual Family and Community Celebration on Feb. 3. The event, held at Mad River Middle School, was alive with activity, enthusiasm, and a shared spirit of community engagement.
For many years, the Family and Community Celebration has been a cornerstone event for the Mad River school district, reflecting its commitment to fostering strong connections between the edu- cational environment and the community it serves.
The day was packed with educational sessions aimed at enriching the attendees’ knowledge and understanding of various topics relevant to family and community life. Resource booths dotted the venue, providing valuable information and support from a wide array of local organizations, including nonprofit groups, churches, and community service providers.
A highlight of the event was the musical presentations that filled the air with melodies, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. In addition to the informational and musical offerings, the event featured a wide array of activities designed to engage minds and spark creativity. Art activities invited attendees to express themselves through various mediums, while STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sessions captivated the curious minds of both young and old. Home Depot building kits were made available for parents and children to engage in hands-on construction projects, fostering teamwork and practical skills in a fun and interactive setting.
