Dayton man pleads guilty in drive-by shooting

- DANIEL SUSCO,

A 21-year-old Dayton man — the third of four defendants charged in a September drive-by shooting in Moraine — faces between two and six years in prison, according to a pair of plea agreements filed Tuesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Jaedon Landis, 21, pleaded guilty Tuesday to improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation and discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises. One count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle was dismissed. He remains free awaiting his May 27 sentencing hearing.

The Moraine Police Division received a 911 call early Sept. 22, 2023, reporting shots fired into a house in the 2700 block of Cadillac Street.

Landis and co-defendants Christian DeJesus, Michael Guadagno and Noah Romero, all of Miami Twp., were identified and arrested by the end of the next day.

DeJesus, 19, has an intervention in lieu of conviction hearing scheduled for April 9.

Guadagno, 20, was sentenced in February to up to five years of probation, but on March 8 his community control was terminated after it was determined he wasn’t meeting all the terms of his probation. He was admitted March 15 to the Correctional Reception Center in Orient to begin serving a two-year prison term, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction.

Romero pleaded guilty March 19 and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction. He will be under the supervision of the Montgomery County Probation Service for up to five years and enter a drug rehabilitation program, according to court documents.
