Aviation Energy Center gives funds to 4 groups
Aviation Energy Center has announced the recipients of its Spring 2024 Community Giving Program: Caesar Creek State Park, Glen Helen Nature Preserve, 4-H Camp Clifton, and World House Choir. These four local organizations were selected to receive funding for their vital community-centric work in Greene County.
■Caesar Creek State Park consists of 4,700 acres of park and 2,500 acres of wildlife area for visitors to enjoy year-round. The park offers outdoor recreation activities, wildlife areas, meadows, ravines, and scenic views of lakes and forests. Funding will be dedicated to constructing a new bird habitation bench.
■The Glen Helen Nature Preserve’s mission is to safeguard the ecological, historical, and geological resources within its bounds, and utilize the preserve to offer life-shaping environmental learning to students and visitors. The Glen has become the largest and most visited private nature preserve in the Miami Valley. Funding will be used for overall repairs.
■4-H Camp Clifton, established in 1929, is a modern co-educational camping facility on the south side of the Clifton Gorge within John Bryan State Park. 4-H Camp Clifton hosts 4-H camps, the Camp Clifton Day Camp, church youth retreats, and school outdoor educational classes. The facility will use AEC funding to restore the 4-H Camp Clifton Nature Center.
■Founded in 2012, the World House Choir is a diverse, multicultural, mixedvoice choir of 80-90 active citizen singers. The choir’s repertoire is drawn from the music of peace and justice struggles worldwide, representing different traditions, including classical, global folk music, spirituals, and gospel. The World House Choir will use the funding to purchase new instruments for children participating in their programs.
