MONTGOMERY COUNTY HEALTH INSPECTIONS
The following are a sampling of food operation inspection reports from the Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County, from the week of March 25 to March 29. View full inspections reports at inspections.phdmc.org.
Waffle House
780 Arlington Road, Brookville Date of inspection: March 25 Violations: Observed raw shell eggs and bacon stored over RTE foods, pie and creamer. PIC discarded pie and moved creamer container and margarine containers to top shelf. Observed mop sitting in mop sink instead of being hung to air dry. PIC discarded mop head. Comments: Hot water sanitizing dish machine reaching 164F at plate surface. Coolers and freezers cold holding at proper temperatures. NOTE: Basket of in shell raw eggs observed sitting out above cooking area. PIC place into fridge. Facility will be upgraded to license level 4 next license year. Time in lieu procedure is to be written for eggs at that time. Until facility is level 4, eggs are to be kept under refrigeration at all times.
Skyline Chili
945 S. Main St., Centerville Date of inspection: March 25 Violations: Observed fries, funnel cake fries and chicken tenders in reach in freezer by fryers to be thawed. PIC noticed that freezer was not plugged in, discarded of food and plugged freezer back in. Observed several plastic containers to be severely cracked. PIC stated they would be discarded and replaced. Observed build-up of debris on nozzles and underside of drinking fountains. PIC started to remove nozzles to be properly washed, rinsed and sanitized. Observed missing ceiling tiles around walk-in cooler. Observed missing coving near make table by fryers. Observed build-up of debris on floors throughout facility, especially parameters and under equipment.
Whit’s Frozen Custard
199 N. Main St., Centerville Date of inspection: March 26 Violations: Observed opened hot dogs without date marking. PIC date marked hot dogs. Observed no stem thermometer available. Discussed with PIC about obtaining a stem thermometer ASAP to ensure proper heating temperatures. Comments: Facility at this time has not turned in and paid for 2024 FSO license. PIC called owner who stated that payment and application was in the mail. Discussed with PIC about not using latex gloves. Observed with PIC about checking temperatures when heating food.
Geez Grill & Pub
6061 Far Hills Ave., Dayton Date of inspection: March 26 Violations: Observed employee to bare-hand contact RTE croutons. Discussed with PIC who stated they would discuss with employees. Observed mac and cheese placed in cooler previous day to cool to be at 51F. PIC discarded of mac and cheese. Observed several refrigerated, TCS foods (house-made cocktail sauce, cabbage soup, etc.) past discard date. PIC had food discarded. Observed sticky traps placed over ice scoops and handwashing sink. PIC moved sticky traps. Comments: Discussed with PIC about proper reheating procedures (must reheat items to 165F within 2 hours). Discussed proper disposition with PIC. (7 days including prep. date.)
