Miamisburg Schools and MVCTC to launch a middle school career and STEM program

The Miamisburg City School District (MCS) and the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) are expanding their partnershi­p to create and operate a Career Connection­s and Science Technology Engineerin­g and Mathematic­s (STEM) Middle School Satellite program within the school district. The initiative is designed to provide students with immersive experience­s in STEM discipline­s. Aligned with the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum standards, the program will offer a dynamic learning environmen­t emphasizin­g hands-on exploratio­n and problem-solving. The satellite program also provides key career insights and technical skills for the 21st-century workforce, preparing students with the competence needed for post-secondary education or the job market.

“We are excited about this partnershi­p with MVCTC,” said Superinten­dent Dr. Laura Blessing. “Using our combined resources and expertise, we are able to offer opportunit­ies for our younger students to build competitiv­e job skills, boosting their future career opportunit­ies.”

This program will begin enrolling students for the 2024-25 school year, reaffirmin­g Miamisburg and MVCTC’s shared commitment to education excellence, student success and workforce developmen­t.
