BELLMONT CLAIMS COUNTY TITLE; BROWN GOES -1

DECATUR—Winston Brown shot a oneunder 32 on the Majorki course Thursday night to lead Bellmont to a county victory over Adams Central and South Adams.

The Braves finished at +9 as a team on the par 33 course and had four scores in the 30s, giving them a 27-stroke victory over the Jets, who were led by Keaton Bush’s 36.

South Adams was led by Tristen Dailey’s 42.

Brown made back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes and finished with

another birdie on the long, par-five ninth.

Ike Ruble played a consistent round and made just two bogeys to shoot 35.

Owen Minnick was the only Bellmont golfer to make par on the fourth hole, coming after consecutiv­e bogeys on the two prior holes. The four propelled him to a 35.

Bush made par on seven of the last eight holes to overcome a six off the opening tees.

Bellmont will play in the Canterbury Invite Saturday.
