Angela Beitler
Angela L. Beitler, 83, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. She was born in Decatur, Indiana on August 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Antonia (Ortiz) Jauregui. On July 21, 1990, she married Luther P. Beitler.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a 1956 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She had worked at Wayne Novelty for 15 years and Johnson’s Junction for 8 years.
Angela loved music and was talented on the keyboard and piano. She played in several local bands over the years including Latin Combo and Legacy. She was a great cook and was known for her Mexican food, salsa, and homemade pies.
She is survived by her spouse of 31 years, Luke Beitler of Decatur; 3 daughters, Marie Jauregui of Milwaukee, WI, Phyllis ( Kent) Alverson and Dolores “Dee Dee” Jauregui both of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Roundy, Nichole and Brooke Roman; 3 great grandchildren, Xavier, McKayla and Michael Roundy.
Angela was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Salvador Jauregui and Joseph Jauregui; a sister, Joanne Calderon.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Ruppert presiding. Inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
