Carl L. Bluhm, 85, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born in Decatur, IN, on November 22, 1936, the son of the late Ralph V. and Helen M. ( Mitchel) Bluhm. On January 26, 1960, he married Jane M. Keys.

He was a 1954 graduate of Adams Central High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Carl was the owner and operator of Carl Bluhm Drain, Sewer, & Septic for 15 years. He then sold to his daughter and sonin-law and worked another decade for Bluhm & Reber and retired in 2002.

He was the Adams County Dog Catcher for 3 years and was in the 4-H Dog Club. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge B.P.O.E. 796 in Bluffton. He was an avid card player and loved playing at the Berne Senior Center.

Carl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane M. Bluhm of Decatur; 2 sons, Randy L. (Jennifer Frischkorn) Bluhm of Ft. Wayne and Scott A. (ReJena) Bluhm of Berne; a daughter, Kimberly S. (Karl) Reber of Decatur; a sister, Doris Ann (Tom) Eversten of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchild­ren, Holly (Ken) Fernandez-Prada, Cory (Katie) Bluhm, Jacob (Ciera) Bluhm, Christy (Matt) Dunn, Cara (Dylan Long) Bluhm, Ashlee (James) Smith, and Aleesha Reber; great grandchild­ren, Braylend, James Jr., Quinton, Olivia, Emily, Rawling, Evie, Ariel, and Nadya.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to his Great Grandchild­ren’s Education Fund (checks payable to Jane Bluhm).
