NEW SOCCER CLUB IN DECATUR PLANS TO TAKE SPORT TO NEW HEIGHTS IN CITY

DECATUR—One of the defining moments for the sport of soccer in Adams County came in the fall of 1994. After decades of lobbying by supporters across the state, the IHSAA sanctioned the first state tournament for the sport and Bellmont was one of 203 schools to field a team in the inaugural season.

Bellmont won the local sectional that year, fielding a team that contained some of the most influential people in the sport locally for the next two decades.
