Adams County Community Foundation awards scholarships

-

The Adams County Community Foundation ( ACCF) scholarship opportunities began long before this awards event. A program at the Adams Central ( AC) auditorium was an event that many anticipated for months. Many AC seniors, parents, and grandparents attended the 2022 Adams Central Scholarship and awards event.

The students were not only recognized with scholarships they submitted as part of the ACCF scholarship application process, but many also went the extra mile to submit proof of association and completed the added essays or applications (American Legion, Lehman Feed Mills, Volunteer Fire Department, Smith Brothers Nick Taylor, K. Robert Ehrman,

Trooper Cory Elson, etc.). Most students were recognized with multiple awards.

With $ 90,000+ in Adams County Community Foundation ( ACCF) community awards presented, Coni Mayer, ACCF, executive director reported that there were 92 awards presented from 32 ACCF named funds presented to 38 Adams Central seniors. We note multiple awards were presented to individual students while some awards were community scholarships.

The Adams Central event began with welcoming comments by AC guidance counselor, Megan Workinger.

Ms. Workinger celebrated this gathering with recognition to the Adams Central ( AC) Scholarship Committee, particularly Mike Cooper, chairperson and Darin Laukhuf, president, Adams County Community Foundation, Coni Mayer, ACCF director and Deb Cook ACCF

Scholarship administrator, AC guidance department, Char Byerly, local businesses, teachers, parents and students. She shared that the professional cooperation of these groups allowed this event to be presented tonight.

The evening was a celebration of the seniors and their parents with the Adams Central Scholarship Foundation providing snacks for the social gathering following the event.
