DPD responds to two-vehicle crash

The Decatur Police Department investigated a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 3:10 p.m. Monday on 13th Street in town.

Police said Max A. Eichenauer, 77, Grenelefe Court, Decatur, was southbound on 13th Street and was slowing down for traffic that had stopped for a red light. A vehicle in front of him operated by Katie E. Knous, 30. High Street, Decatur, had been stopped but just started to move forward as the light had turned green. Eichenauer told an officer he did not get stopped in time to avoid striking the Knous car. Under $1,001 in damage was estimated to the vehicles in the incident.
