Ron and Sue Girod Scholarship Award
Ron and Sue Girod were members of the last graduating class (1967) from Monmouth High School both having attended there all twelve years. Both were active members of Salem Magley Church where they both were on many of the boards. Ron was owner and operator of Ron Girod Construction specializing in concrete construction while continuing to grain and livestock farm. Ron served as board director of Adams County Co-op, Harvest Land Co-op and Jefferson Township (Wells County) Advisory Board. Sue attended International Business College following high school and worked as an administrative assistant for Ron Girod Construction and Purdue Extension – Wells County for more than twenty years. Ron and Sue were active members of Wells County 4-H Program while their three daughters were involved in 4-H and the Wells County Weekend Backpack Program. Their daughters and families continue to be active members of their communities. Ron and Sue wanted to show support for young students who have personal goals to better themselves. The successful candidate for the Ron & Sue Girod Scholarship will major in the building/ vocational trades (priority) or plan to major in farming and/or small business management. It is scholarship season for current Adams County college students. On Track (out of high school 1-5 years) and Non Traditional (out of high school 5+ years) can apply for scholarships coming up soon. The due date is Wed., June 1, 2022 by 4:00 pm.
