Decatur firefighters get three calls
A pair of calls for wash downs and car engine fire in the drive-thru lane of a busy N. 13th Street fast food restaurant kept the Decatur Fire Department busy on Thursday.
Their first call came at 4:45 p.m. To assist with a wash down for an oil spill that occurred at 334 N. 11th
Street. Firefighters were finished with the incident shortly later at 5:04 p.m.
At 5:29 p.m., the department was dispatched to the McDonald’s restaurant as a 2011 Honda vehicle owned by Ryne Strickler had its engine catch fire while waiting in the drive-thru lline. That run took firefighters out until 6:20 p.m. to complete
