More than $13.5M in taxes paid
Adams County Treasurer Ed Dyer told the commissioners at their May 16 meeting that he’s posted $13,533,000 in county property tax payments to local banks, but more than that has been received by his office.
He said the total of 2022’s payments so far covers 67% of taxes due in the spring, plus 12% of taxes due in the fall.
Dyer also said the county has 24,000 parcels of property, which he later, in conversation with the Daily Democrat, contrasted with the 85,000 parcels in Allen County, which is the largest county in Indiana in land area.
Furthermore, the treasurer noted that the Adams County Regional Sewer District owes $200,000, plus interest, to the county.
