Deer hit on US 33

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department investigated a vehicle-deer accident at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of US 33 and CR 250 N.

The police report said Nevaeh M. Peterson, 17, rural Decatur, was headed southeast on US 33 when a deer ran onto the road. Peterson told police she did not see the deer prior to the mishap which caused an estimated $1,001-$2,500 in damage to the vehicle.

It was also noted on the report that the investigating officer was traveling behind Peterson on US 33 when the accident occurred.
