Victor B. Porter Memory Bench

-

The Victor B. Porter Memory Bench has been delivered to our headquarters! This bench is the brainchild of team member Pam Strader. She began a drive to collect plastic soft drink (“pop” here in Indiana) caps to use as raw material for the bench. This effort was noticed by vendor Bill Gribble of PlasDeck during our annual Product Seminar, and he decided he wanted to be a part of this effort to remember Vic. Our CAD/CAM and design team consulted with Pam and produced graphics to meet her vision of the bench, the collected plastic was dropped off on the way to the Cleveland boat show, and voila! The finished bench!

Vic’s bench will be placed on Decatur’s Madison Street Plaza, where Vic and Kris Porter spent many happy hours enjoying concerts, dancing, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Decatur community residents and visitors will enjoy resting on this bench for decades to come, and we thank Pam for coming up with this idea to honor a man who gave back so much to his community, Vic Porter!
