- By DANE FUELLING

UNIONDALE—Incredibly strong winds at Friday’s tennis sectional seemed to favor the favorite Adams Central Jets, but a comeback by Olivia Selking at No. 1 singles allowed the Bellmont Braves to pull off their biggest win of the season and knock off title hopefuls Adams Central 3-2 at Norwell.

Selking fought the winds early, falling behind and dropping the first set, 6-3. The junior kept her composure and won the second set in a tiebreak and then held serve to score the matchwinning point in a three-hour match.

Bellmont won both doubles matches to advance to Saturday’s final against Norwell.
