Bellmont

-Despite finishing last, the 4x800 team of Connor Garlinger, Ethan Curtis, Harry Gunsett and Aiden Faurote ran the fastest time of the season for the Braves.

-Ian Webb had to set a new PR to finish third in the 1600 and qualify for regional. By shaving 2.78 seconds off his previous best, he surpassed Deion Guise’s best county time and now holds the fastest mile in 2022.

-Webb’s running mate, Elijah Obringer, who has been at the heels of Webb all season, also shave a similar time from his PR and finished in fifth.

-A new combination of sprinters yielded the fastest time by any county team, with Ben Sprague, Trevor Smith, Jamison Rumple and Landon Caston finishing fifth in 45.55.

-Brett Johnson did everything he could in the 400, setting a new county-best time in 2022 with a 52.61, but it was only good enough for fourth.

-In between pole vault attempts, Brian Gerke set a new personal best in the 400 with a 1:01.06.

-Josh Myers finished his career with his fastest 300 hurdles time (45.19) as he finished seventh.

-Noah Short broke 50 seconds for the first time in the 300 hurdles and was 13th.

-In perhaps the biggest surprise of the night, Trevor Smith went from a PR of 8- 06 to 10- 06 and qualified for regional.

-The other Bellmont pole vaulter, Brian Gerke, also went higher than his previous PR, finishing tied for fifth at 9-06.

-Jamison Rumple qualified for regional with a three-foot increase on his PR in the shot put with a toss of 50-05.

Adams Central

-The Jets ran their fastest 4x800 of the year with a team of Jacob Myers, Derek Miller, Trevor Schwartz and Logan Clark.

-Aaron Hirschy set a new PR in the 200 prelims.

-Nic Smith, David Sheets, Aaron Hirschy and Cameron Smith set a new team best in the 4x100 and finished seventh in 48.24.

-Andrew Schwartz set a new season best in the 400 with a 1:03.66.

-Derek Miller was fifth in the 300 hurdles with a season-best time of 43.60.

-Logan Clark took 15 seconds off his season-best time and finished 12th in the 800.

-Trevor Schwartz cut two seconds from his time at conference and finished sixth in the 3200.

-Corbin Hirschy’s sectional-winning toss of the shot was over three feet more than his PR at 51-01.25.

-Hirschy also set a PR to advance in the discus, finishing behind teammate Trenton Hoffman for second with a throw of 135 feet.

South Adams

-The Starfires 4x800 team pulled together and produced their best time of the year by a wide margin. Race Anderson, Caiden Neuenschwander, Hayden Brown and Zach Schwartz ran a 9:10.55, the fastest time in Adams County this season.

-Hunter Kongar’s regional-qualifying time of 15.79 in the 110 hurdles was nearly half a second faster than his previous PR. He beat out Huntington North’s Micah Plemons by .03 seconds. Only five runners in last year’s regional went faster than 15.79 and all five of them graduated last year.

-Kongar also set a PR with the fastest 300 M hurdles time in Adams County this year to take second place in 40.52. That time would have qualified him for the State Finals at last year’s Marion regional.

-Oscar Vasquez set a new personal best with his time of 5:40.53 in the mile.

-Isaac Dee, Caiden Neuenschwander, Zach Schwartz and Grant O’Dell set a new team best in the 4x100 with a 50.38.

-Conner Hyman ran his fastest time this year in the 300 hurdles and was tenth in 46.85.

-Freshman Caiden Neuenschwander cut two seconds from his PR to finish eighth.
