Thursday Swim Notes At Adams Central

Girls Meet

-The Adams Central medley relay team used a season-best time of 2:03.28 to win the event, with Kate Moser swimming the backstroke, Savannah Hendricks the breast, Sydnee Armes the fly and Jenna Cook racing to the line on the free.

-Freshman Ella Hockemeyer won the 100 Free with a PR of 2:16.35.

-Senior Cami Stetler won the IM with a faster time than her season best at the NE8 meet, finishing in 2:42.15.

-Adams Central’s Baylee Smith finished second in the individual medley with a season-best time of 2:42.76.

-Sydnee Armes broke the Adams Central school record with her 1:04.20, cutting six tenths off her previous PR against Celina. The record previously belonged to Ali McClain and was set back in 2009. Armes is now within 1.5 seconds of last year’s sectional-winning time.

-Jenna Cook nearly caught Madison Witte at the wall, but finished just behind the Bellmont sophomore by .2 seconds, but she set a new season best of 1:01.80 with her second-place time.

-Cook then swam the lead leg of the 200 Free Relay, helping the Jets win the event with a time of 1:52.47, the fastest time this season with teammates Brooke Thomas, Smith and Armes.

-Bellmont’s top 200 Relay team also set a new season mark as Karah Myers, Hockemeyer, Cami Stetler and Witte finished in 1:54.93.

-Kate Moser swam her fastest 100 Back of the season and beat out Shaylin McCray to win the event. Moser’s winning time of 1:11.88 is just .02 slower than McCray’s county-leading time for this season, which she clocked last week at Norwell.

-Savannah Hendricks followed Moser’s lead and swam her fastest time of the season in the breaststroke, winning by six seconds over teammate Ella Bluhm in 1:20.38.

-Bluhm’s time of 1:26.64 was also her fastest of the season.

-Bellmont’s Isabelle Lengerich was just behind Bluhm in third place with her fastest time of the year.

-Coach Drew Norby made one change to his 400 Free Relay team and inserted Addie Kintz in with Hockemeyer, Karah Myers and Witte and they won the event with a 4:14.11. The only relay team to swim faster this year in the county was the same Bellmont team with Cami Stetler instead of Kintz at last week’s NE8 meet.

Boys Meet

-Adams Central coach Amanda Bluhm made the right choice by inserting Owen Connelley into the medley relay as her team won the event with a new season-best time in the county of 1:53.20. Connelley swam the fly, while Austin Shifferly started with the back. Jackson Shoaf swam the fly and Reece Moser finished with the freestyle.

-Connelley also won the individual medley, cutting a second from his season best to win in 2:25.37.

-Noah Short made another huge cut to his PR, which was just set against South Adams last week. His winning time of 23.79 was .6 faster and the senior is now within a second of the school record.

-Adams Central’s Reece Moser was not far behind Short, setting a new season best of 24.28 to take second place. Moser’s PR was set last year at 23.76.

-Damon Light broke his own record again with a score of 189.45 across six dives.

-Connelley also won the butterfly with a seasonbest time of 1:03.37.

-Zayne Roop of Bellmont was second with a PR of 1:06.80.

-Short also broke his own personal record in the 100 Free, winning in 54.68.

-Shifferly cut over three seconds from his best backstroke time to win easily in 1:06.56..

-Jackson Shoaf won the breaststroke with his fastest time of the year (1:16.03).
