Four new faces for 4H Council
Just under a third of the council that facilitates the youth development program that sees increasing popularity each year will be first year members. Candidates Jesse Franck, Grace Moser, Megan Bluhm, and Adam Minnich were all elected to the 4H Council with the conclusion of the process that began in November. While they are new to their positions, all four are ten-year members who have also served the club in various other capacities, including internships, committees, and volunteer work. The election results were announced at the annual 4H meeting in January.
Both Brian Jordan and Todd Krueckenberg both earned returns to the council. Jordan had previously served two terms on the council, but with the way that the 4H regulations are set, he could not run for a third consecutive term. However after a term away, the limits reset and Jordan regained his seat. Additionally he was elected to serve as board president. Kruekenberg was reelected to his second term, meaning that at the conclusion of this term he will be barred from running in the next council election.
In addition to overall program facilitation, these individuals will be responsible for planning, establishing county wide guidelines, and serving as advocates for Adams County 4-H. Other functions include assisting with volunteer and member recruitment, financial support, and resolving conflicts relating to 4H policy and keeping them consistent with national and state standards.
The new members will join Vice President Kady Fuhrmann, Treasurer Mark
Mesing, Secretary Lara Moake, Lindsey Bluhm, Mark Juengal, Meghan Leichty, and Eric Neuenschwander on the 13 person, elected section of the council. Their monthly meetings are available to the public and are listed on the Adams County Purdue Extension website. The next meeting for the 4H Council will be Monday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. which will be held at the Expo Hall Conference Room.
