Amstutz eyes second term
Kelly Amstutz is preparing for re-election to serve on Berne City Council representing District 2. Amstutz has many years of experience serving the Berne community, including 19 years as executive director of the Hope Clinic, years of service in her church and mentoring youth, leading a support group for foster parents, and serving the Berne Girls Softball League as a member of the organizational team, committee member and coach.
Amstutz is employed by the Adams County Soil & Conservation District as conservation program coordinator. She and her husband, Brice, are owners of Amstutz Construction and Supplies in Berne and attend church locally. They have seven children and 18 grandchildren. She is currently a volunteer for “Brianna’s Hope” and is a member of the Adams County Republican Women’s Club.
“I have so enjoyed my time thus far serving on the City Council,” stated Amstutz. “My first year serving was quite unique, as we were faced with various decisions to make in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Although it was a challenging time, it was an incredible
experience to work with the members of the council and Mayor Sprunger. I am proud to be part of a team that shared insight, experience and passion to serve and care for our community the best we could in the midst of uncertain times.”
“One of the highlights for me in my first term has been meeting with citizens from our community and assisting them in finding answers for some of the challenges that have come about. Additionally, I am very excited to be a part of the team that has been working to develop plans for improvements at Lehman Park. Completion time of this project is an unknown, as funding opportunities change quite often. Nonetheless, it is going to be fantastic, and I consider it an honor to be part of the planning team.”
