Police car hits deer
Deer in Adams County have as much respect for a law enforcement car as they do any other vehicle as was evidenced Wednesday evening at 6:50 p.m. when a deer ran onto CR 400 W just south of the intersection with CR 500 N into the side of a Decatur Police Department car driven by officer Jagg J. Nunez, 25, rural Decatur.
Nunez was not injured in the mishap that was investigated by the Adams County Sheriff’s Department and caused an estimated $1,001$2,500 in damage to his police car owned by the City of Decatur.
Decatur officers probed another accident at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Ninth Street and Nuttman Avenue. Police said Kyle L. Orshoski, 31, Marshall Street, Decatur, was southbound on Ninth Street and slowed down for the stop sign at the intersection with Nuttman. Police said he proceeded on through the stop sign, however, and struck a westbound pick-up truck operated by Ryan C. Miller, 39, N. Fifth Street, Decatur, which had the right of way. Neither driver was injured and damage was estimated at between $2,501-$5,000 to the vehicles.

Carolyn (Matt) Voshell of Decatur, Indiana; son, Kevin (Jamie) Kirchner of Decatur, Indiana; son Keith Kirchner of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Thomas Kirchner of Monroe, Indiana; four granddaughters; Adalie Voshell, Carley Kirchner, Kayla Kirchner, and Avery Kirchner.
