Alma M. Miller, 93, of Decatur, Indiana passed away early Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest.

She was born on November 29, 1929, in Argos, Indiana to Charles and Ester (Kidd) Williams. Alma was united in marriage to Richard Miller on October 1, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2008.

Alma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim in Decatur where she had been a member of the Adult Club & Senior Walther League Card Club. She had also served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Sunny Circle Home Ec. Club for over 40 years and had enjoyed her time with the Tuesday Afternoon Card Club and the Thursday Afternoon Ladies Bowling League.

She was a 1947 graduate of Hoagland High School. In 1991, Alma retired from Lincoln Bank, formerly 1st State Bank, with 31 years of service. She had also worked at the Preble elevator in the early 1960’s.

Alma enjoyed playing cards and games and spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughter, Carolyn (Rex) Journay of Bryant, Indiana; son, Dave (Deb) Miller of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Ruth (Jim) Heckman of Decatur, Indiana; six grandchild­ren, Wes (Kate) Journay, Brian (Erin) Journay, Joshua Miller, Drew (Sara) Heckman, Jason (Ashley) Miller and Kari (Adam) Butcher; 17 great-grandchild­ren; and sister-in-law, Helen Miller of New Haven, Indiana.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaugh­ter, Katie Heckman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim in Decatur, with Pastor Daniel Dahling officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Friedheim.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim.

Arrangemen­ts are by the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
