Police officers investigated three vehicular accidents in recent days.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded to an early Sunday morning crash at 5:47 a.m. when Timothy E. Pearson, 55, Battle Creek, Michigan, was southbound on US 27 near CR 850 S when a deer ran onto the road and he was unable to avoid hitting the animal. Police estimated between $2,501-$5,000 was done to the car in the incident. Pearson was not injured.

Two Friday crashes brought out the Decatur Police Department including a 7:17 p.m. accident that resulted in EMS being called to the scene. The police report said Zachary A. Krick, 30 was northbound on Second Street and had stopped for the four-way stop sign with Jackson Street. He proceeded into the intersection after he said he had looked both ways but the glare of the sun blocked his vision of an eastbound SUV operated by Victoria R. Hamrick, 16, N. Tenth Street, Decatur, that was already in the intersection and the vehicles collided. The airbags on the Krick car deployed and EMS checked both drivers at the scene but neither was transported to the hospital. Between $1,001-$2,500 in damage was done to the vehicles.

The other city crash occurred at 3:30 p.m. Friday as vehicles driven by Daxton J. Haines, 19, rural Decatur, and Ava J.. Roemer, 15, rural Decatur, were both eastbound on Monroe Street waiting for the light at Second Street to change. Haines started to go forward but realized Haines had not yet moved. He put his foot on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal and collided with the rear of the Roemer SUV. Between $5,001-$10,000 was done and neither driver was injured.
