Police book in seven at jail

Seven individual­s were booked in on charges last weekend by police in Adams County.

The Decatur Police Department jailed Yar Sut, 25, Fort Wayne on a charge of criminal confinemen­t, but his book-in sheet at the Adams County Law Enforcemen­t and Detention Center listed the offense as kidnapping. Other charges he faces include refusing to identify himself to police officers, operating a vehicle without a license or permit, and operating a vehicle without ever having been licensed to do so. He is being held in custody without bond.

Local officers also served a warrant on Jason L. Cromwell, 37, Elm Street, Decatur, for violation of probation. He is being held in custody without bond.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department charged four of the people including:

Guillermo T. Meneses, 43, Fort Wayne, on a book-in order Saturday for driving while suspended. He was released under his own recognizan­ce.

Deputies detained Clint A. Knaub, 45, S. Adams Street, Monroe, Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicate­d and for unsafe lane movement by not giving an audible sound or turn signal. His bond was placed at $450 cash and $5,000 surety.

Chelsea G. Lambert, 21, rural Decatur, on a book-in order for leaving the scene of an accident. He was released under his own recognizan­ce.

Marie D. McKinley, 53, Portland, on Saturday for a book-in order for battery resulting in bodily injury. She was released under her own recognizan­ce.

Taylor M. Schmidt-Schwytzer, 29, W. Monroe Street, Decatur, on a warrant Saturday for a probation violation. She is being held in custody without bond.
