Vivian D. Rumple, 85, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Adams Woodcrest. Vivian was born on November 1, 1938, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Carl E. and Bonnie D. (Sines) Hamilton. On August 26, 1956, Vivian married Richard A. Rumple, he preceded her in death on March 27, 2015. She was a homemaker, worked at Peytons in Bluffton, and also as a cook for North Adams Community Schools. She was in the Tiger Lilies Garden Club. Vivian and Dick enjoyed their twenty winters they spent in Estero, Florida. Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r. Above all else she was so proud of her family and with honor and enthusiasm, she loved her family with everything she had. She is survived by her son, Richard A. (Ila) Rumple Jr. of Angola, IN; 2 daughters, Diana D. (Paul) Fuelling and Cheryl L. (Jim) Franze both of Decatur; a daughter-in-law, Kari Rumple of Estero, FL; 3 brothers, David L. (Jeanne) Hamilton, Alan E. (Joy) Hamilton and Rex H. Hamilton all of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hamilton of Estero, FL; 10 grandchild­ren and 13 great grandchild­ren. She was preceded in the death by her son, Randall W. Rumple; her sister, Carol J. McKean; her brother, Charles L. “Chuck” Hamilton; her beloved dachshund, Puddles. A Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Fox officiatin­g. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to A.C.C.F. Angel Alzheimer’s Fund.
