The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle driven by Victor E. Schwartz, 27, Bluffton, crashed into the rear of a SUV operated by Arleen A. Wagner, 75, rural Decatur. An Adams County Sheriff’s Department report said Schwartz told them he remembered leaving work and was going home on SR 124 but does not recall anything else before the accident. Wagner informed police she had slowed down and had her turn signal on to go north onto 400 N. She said the Schwartz vehicle had not slowed down prior to the crash. A westbound witness on SR 124 collaborated Wagner’s version including the fact her turn signal was activated.
