Ivan C. Lepper, 92, of Hoagland, Indiana passed away Thursday evening, April 11, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Ivan was born on March 20, 1932 in Allen County, Indiana to Martin and Ida (Nahrwold) Lepper. He was united in marriage to Ardina Scheumann on June 13, 1959.

Ivan was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen where he served as an elder, deacon and trustee. He was also on the Hoagland Area Advancemen­t Associatio­n as a board member. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department in Hoagland for 35 years.

He was employed at Stucky Brothers in Fort Wayne from 1958 until his retirement in 2018, after 60 years of service.

Ivan served his country in the United States Air Force being honorably discharged.

He enjoyed working out in his yard, and gardening. He enjoyed tinkering around, and watching his grandchild­ren play sports in person and online. In his later years, Ivan enjoyed word searches and taking naps.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ardina Lepper of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Judith Lepper of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Todd Lepper of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Gary (Monica) Lepper of Decatur, Indiana; son, Brian (Jill) Lepper of New Haven, Indiana; sister-in-law, Regina Guenin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister-in-law, Norma Lepper of Hoagland, Indiana; three grandchild­ren, Abbie Lepper, Brooke Lepper, and Leroy Lepper; three step-grandchild­ren, Brian (Amy) Williamson, Sara (Paul) Mesing, and Alexandra (Trevor) Frymier; and two step-great-grandchild­ren, Oakley and Kenzie Mesing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Dean and Leroy Lepper; and three sisters, Dorothy Bultemeier, Jean Lepper, and Carol Neal.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter Brock and Pastor Berett Steffen officiatin­g. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bingen.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; Worship Anew; or Hoagland Volunteer Fire and EMS.
