OBITUARIES

February 1, 2023, Othilia “Tillie” Johnson ( Walter) went home to be

with the Lord. Tillie was born on March 23, 1936, in Dun County North

Dakota at the home of her parents George and Catherine (Hutmacher)

Walter. Tillie was the 2nd of 7 children. Fran Martinez of Marysville WA.,

Joe (Amy) of Hayden ID., Sally Axtell ( Jim) Coeur d'Alene ID., Lillian Knapp

(Dale) Coeur d'Alene ID., David (Donna) of Washington UT, and Linda

Naismith (Don) of Buckeye AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Jay Dougherty, father

and mother George and Catherine, brother Joseph Walter, and husband

of 30 years Lyle H. Johnson.

She is survived by her Children, Gary Jay Dougherty Jr. ( Teresa) of Deer

Park WA., Terry Dougherty (Heidi) of Deer Park, WA., and Del

Dougherty ( Virginia) of Ocean Shores WA. Her grandchild­ren, Trevor

Dougherty (Carissa), Shayne Thacker ( Jay), Chelsea Zacher (Matt),

Matthew Dougherty (Amanda) and Heather Lewis ( Jessie). Her brother

David, and sisters Fran, Sally, Lillian, and Linda. Tillie is also survived by

her 12 great grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews.

When Gary and Tillie were raising their 3 boys in the 60's and early 70's they ran a very successful and

prominent dairy farm west of Deer Park, called Hazelwood Dairy. Gary passed away leaving Tillie with 3

young boys. The dairy dissolved and she took her boys and moved to California with her in- laws, that

didn't last but for a little while and she brought her family back home to Deer Park. Later she met and

married Lyle Johnson, they moved to Otis Orchards WA. Where they lived for several years before

moving back to Deer Park. Tillie and Lyle were both very involved with the Eagles lodge, enjoying the

CBRV group, bowling and being members of the Auxiliary, she was even voted Madam President of the

Deer Park Aerie Eagles Lodge. Tillie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
