Together they worked hard to achieve their dreams of a happy, successful life in America. Alfonsina worked for Hickey Freeman for a few years before giving birth to her only son Jack, whom she adored. She welcomed with loving arms her daughter-in-law and three grandchildren who were the light of her life and she devoted herself to them. Cooking for friends and family brought her much joy and she was well known for her “wandis.” She often lovingly spoke of her family in Italy with tears in her eyes, relaying stories from her childhood and the sacrifices of leaving them behind. She loved sharing her wisdom and guidance with her grandchildren, and always made sure to throw in a joke or funny sentiment. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and laughter.
