6 most unique promotional dates in 2024

- Andrew Tredinnick

It’s time for the memorabilia collectors to circle a handful of dates on their calendars.

The Mets have been creative with their giveaways in recent years, including a grass-growing Francisco Lindor bobblehead last year. This season, the Mets will provide giveaways at 19 of their 81 home games, including some unique items that might be worth seeking out.

Additionally, fireworks nights will also take place on four separate Fridays: May 31, June 28, July 26 and Aug. 16. The Mets also announced that Saturday home games between March 28 and May 25 will begin at 1:40 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. for the rest of the Saturdays during the season.

Here is a rundown of the six most unique Mets’ special giveaways. (These particular giveaways are for the first 15,000 fans at Citi Field.):

Hogwarts house scarves

April 27 vs. Cardinals

Harry Potter fans, rejoice. The Mets will be offering four different colored scarves, representing the different houses in the magical book series.

Which house will you be sorted into at the game? The giveaway is also a perfect garment for the chilly days at Citi Field before the season heats up.

Mr. Mets London telephone booth bobblehead

May 11 vs. Braves

Before the Mets head across the pond to England for a two-game series with the Phillies on June 8 and 9, they will commemorate their first trip with a unique bobblehead featuring the Mr. Mets mascot. The Mets have only played international series three other times in their history.

Artist series: Joel Mesler beach tote

May 25 vs. Giants

Before you head to the beach for the first time this summer, the Mets will be providing something to carry all the essentials.

The bag figures to have a cool design, as well, with New York-based artist Joel Mesler offering up his unique, colorful creation.

Brandon Nimmo bobblehead

July 12 vs. Rockies

The fan favorite and homegrown Mets outfielder gets the star treatment as his likeness is enshrined as a collectible doll. It figures to be a little different than the gnome given out during the 2019 season.

Last season in Binghamton, the Rumble Ponies honored Nimmo’s tenure in the minor leagues with a bobblehead of his iconic home-run saving catch.

Pickleball paddle

July 12 vs. Rockies

The twist on the sport of tennis is taking the nation by storm. Now, when Mets fans head toward the net, they can take swings with their favorite team.

Mike Piazza Mercury Mets replica jersey

July 27 vs. Braves

Twenty-five years after the Mets took their vision for the future toward the sun and the planet Mercury with iconic futuristic-inspired uniforms, the team will bring the lovably hideous uniforms back at the gates.

The sleeveless designs debuted momentarily but will never be forgotten. Now, Mets fans will be able to get their hands on the alien concept themselves.
