Jean Y. Muschella

Jean Y Muschella 84, of Orlando, FL and Troy, MI passed away on May 20, 2021. She was born in St. Louis MO in 1937 and graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School. She married Joseph W. Muschella Jr. on November 15, 1957, and lived most of her life in Troy, MI and later years in Orlando, FL. She worked for Troy School District as an Elementary School Lunchroom Cook for almost 10 years. Troy school district always wondered why she had the largest number of hot lunch count in the district. She said to them that she would stop at the grocery store and buy more butter and spices to make the food taste the way it should. She just loved all the kids and was always there for them.

She was a loving wife for more than 50 years and an amazing mother, grandmothe­r and aunt. She never missed an opportunit­y to travel or spend time with her family or friends, including a group of High Schools friends that she traveled with and kept in touch with for 65 years.

Jean is survived by her daughter Jill (Roger) Hilborn grandson Will Hilborn, son Joseph Muschella III (Spouse David Bateman). Preceding her in death, husband Joseph Muschella Jr., brother Ralph Nutter, parents Ralph and Marion Nutter.

Memorial Service to be held Christ Church Cranbrook Bloomfield Hills, MI August 5, 2021, at 11:00am. Gathering to be held after service, location to be announced at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
