MAC men

Florida Gulf Coast 77, Western Michigan 67: Lamar Norman Jr. led the Broncos with 24 points in the Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Invitation­al, but the host Eagles shot 47.6% from 3point range to dominate the second half. WMU 1-4) faces Purdue-Fort Wayne at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Fort Myers, Florida.

Ohio 88, Concordia (Mich.) 68: The Cardinals were set up for a mammoth upset, as they led the Bobcats, 37-30, at halftime. But Ohio recovered with a 58-point second half to stave off the NAIA school from Ann Arbor. Thomas Hronis came off the bench for Concordia with a red-hot shooting stroke; he hit seven 3-pointers (in 13 tries) for a game-high 23 points in 28 minutes.

Big Ten women

No. 12 Michigan 61, No. 16 Oregon State 52: The Wolverines finished strong with a 21-point fourth quarter to break open a tie game in the Daytona Beach Invitation­al. Naz Hillmon poured in 20 points to lead U-M (6-0) and added 13 rebounds. Danielle Rauch added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Michigan State 84, Oakland 71: The Spartans opened with a 19-9 run over the first six minutes, sparked by seven points from Nia Clouden, to dominate the host Golden Grizzlies. Clouden finished with 23 points (on 8for-16 shooting) to lead all scorers and added two rebounds and four assists. Taiyer Parks had 16 points off the bench for MSU (5-2). Kahlaijah Dean led the Golden Grizzlies with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 32 minutes.

MAC women

Delaware 87, Eastern Michigan 72: Areanna Combs was busy for the Eagles, with 26 points 11 rebounds and four assists over 36 minutes but EMU fell to the Blue Hens in the fourth quarter, outscored 27-12 in the final 10 minutes. Danielle Rainey added 15 points.

Northeaste­rn 63, Central Michigan 57: Molly Davis was red-hot, with nine makes in 18 attempts, for 32 points. Her Chippewa teammates? Not so much, as they hit just 10 jots in 35 attempts. Davis added four rebounds, two assists and five steals, but it wasn’t enough for CMU (1-3).
