Pine Knob Music Theatre is back to its classic name of long ago. And it’s back with a full, 50-event schedule of concerts and celebrating its 50th anniversary.

What else is new? There are new food offerings.

Tater tots topped with bacon and smoked pork. Reuben sliders with housemade dressing. Street corn on a stick.

These are just a few of the new food selections offered at Pine Knob when the season at the outdoor venue in Clarkston gets underway Friday. The new food options will be available at Pine Knob, including those offered from the Detroit Grille House in Shelby Township, Planet Sub out of Clarkston and Fraiser’s Schott’s Market.

From Planet Sub, several healthy, made-toorder, sub and wrap sandwiches. Offerings include its oven-baked subs layered with low-fat meats and low-fat provolone cheese, topped with various veggies. New this year is Planet Sub’s Veggie Hummus Wrap with homemade hummus, onions, tomatoes, banana peppers, olives and lettuce. A gluten-free bread option is available.

A must-try from Schott’s Market is its street corn on a stick. For Friday’s new food reveal to the news media, the street corn was served in cups for ease. It’s fresh steamed corn, with a blend of cheese, cilantro and paprika. The corn was very fresh and all the flavors blended well.

This season, the Detroit Grille House is featuring the “PK Burger.” The burger will evolve with the Michigan seasons, Darren Stowell, owner of Detroit Grille House said. First up is a burger with smoked wild mushrooms and Pinconning cheddar, roasted spring onion and garlic mayo. Next month, Stowell said is a barbecue burger.

Levy, the food service provider for the theater, introduced new items that will be available at the Trinity Healthy Ivy Lounge — an exclusive VIP venue for Pine Knob season ticket holders. The lounge is open before, during and after events.

Here, Levy’s executive chef Scott Johnson, has created some trendy offerings. A favorite is the loaded tater tots. Crispy tater tots are topped with house-smoked pork over cherry wood, topped with barbecue sauce, bacon, fresh giardiniera and a cheese sauce. Reuben sliders with thin slices of corned beef topped with sauerkraut also feature Levy’s housemade dressing. On the light and healthy side, there’s a Michigan summer salad with fresh seasonal fruit and a raspberry vinaigrette. Johnson also added a fried chicken sandwich to the menu that has a slather of chipotle aioli and is topped with smoked gouda.

Also returning for the season are these food and beverage venues:

The Tree House by Lume is an open beer garden and outside deck with food and beverage offerings. There are craft and traditional beers. At the Union Mac Shack are Union Joints famous mac and cheese and its pulled pork sliders. Founders Brewing Company are also features.

The Coppercraft Club has picnic-style seating and barbecue foods including brisket and pork. Here, you will see Levy’s smoker in action as all the barbecue foods, brisket and pork, are smoked over cherry wood. There are also beer and specialty cocktails.

Honcho Post: From the folks at Union Joints restaurant group, Honcho returns for its fifth season. It will have a variety of offerings of its take on Latin street food. There are nachos, tacos, burritos and margaritas.

Little Caesars Pizza will have big slice portions of its cheese pizza and cheese and pepperoni.

Prices across the concessions open to all are in the $9-$15 range. At the Trinity Health Ivy Lounge, expect items in the $15-$20 range.
