Northern Illinois 65, Detroit Mercy 63:

Emma Trawally Porta hit a step-back jumper in the final second to complete the Titans’ rally from a 10-point halftime deficit at Callihan Hall in Detroit, but there was just enough time, following a timeout, for the Huskies to in-bound the ball to Emily Minert, who hit a floater as time expired for the win. Trawally Porta finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Amaya Burch led the Titans (1-3) with 23 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes. Burch hit five of her 11 3-point attempts, while the rest of the UDM roster managed just two in 12 attempts. NIU (4-1) shot 57.1% from beyond the arc, but attempted just seven 3s.

Next up, the Titans have the rest of the week off before visiting Bowling Green at 7 p.m. Monday. They’ll open Horizon League play on Dec. 2 with a visit to Purdue Fort Wayne.
