BENTON HARBOR - William L. “Bill” Taschereau, 56, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A Celebratio­n of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00PM until 3:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lake Fork Church Cemetery in Atwood, Illinois at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Animal Aid of Southwest Michigan at www.animalaids­wmi.org. Bill was born on November 20, 1966, in Dearborn, MI, to Henry and Doris (Gabhart) Taschereau, Jr. Bill had a passion for cars, and was an auto mechanic for many years. He was known to his family and friends as a man of music. Bill owned his own recording studio and was passionate about music, playing in several bands, as a guitar player over the years. He had a love for animals, especially his rescue cat, Toots, and his dogs, Jazzy, Precious, and Josie. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his friends and family.

Bill is survived by his children, Amber (Jeffrey) Lamkin, and Thomas Taschereau, and his grandchild­ren, Aria and Audrey Lamkin, his siblings, Richard (Denise) Taschereau, Karen (Kate) Moldovan, and Lee (Stacy) Moldovan, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his girlfriend of 15 years, Julie Welsh, her children, Derrick (Marci) Ziemann, Nichole (Stephen) Winters and Cory (Samantha) Ziemann, and Julie’s 17 grandchild­ren, who admired Bill as a grandfathe­r. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Taschereau, Jr. and Doris Rousku, and his brother, Kenneth Taschereau.
