- George A. Meschke, 82, passed away from congestive heart failure Oct. 16, 2023 at his home in Oro Valley, Arizona with his loving wife Diane and sister-in-law Dawn at his side. Family, friends and colleagues remember George for his kindness and being a true gentleman. Born June 11, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, he was a 1959 graduate of Libbey High School. His remarkable artistic talent was recognized at an early age, and he pursued his art career by earning a BS Degree in 1966 from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architectu­re and Art. In May 1970, he married Diane Bigelow. They lived in Dearborn, MI until his retirement in Jan. 1999 from Ford Motor Company Design Center where he was a Graphics Designer.

They then moved to Arizona but returned to Michigan where they spent the summer months. They continued to enjoy traveling, and George incorporat­ed his artistry with filming to create memorable travelogue­s of their trips. This year included a cruise through the Inside Passage of Alaska, but their favorite destinatio­n would always be England. George is survived by Diane, his beloved wife of 53 years, brother James (Laurie) Meschke, nieces Allison Corn and Stephanie Meschke, nephew David Meschke, 3 grand-nieces, sister-in-law Dawn Marie Bigelow and dear friends Christina and Ronald Radzilowks­ki, and Nancy Lenhart. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Ruth Meschke and sister Marilyn Crampton. George was a member of Kirk in the Hills Presbyteri­an Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI where private inurnment of his ashes will be in the Kirk Columbariu­m.
