For Mason Curtis, Michigan was early, easy pick
Prep star explains why appeal has held since 2022 decision

Ensworth senior Mason Curtis announced his commitment to Michigan early in his high school career, choosing Michigan in June 2022. But he never changed his decision.
Here is why Mason Curtis chose Michigan, in his own words:
I was able to see many programs between my brother’s (Devyn Curtis’) recruitment and my own.
Growing up, even though you may be a fan of a certain school, it’s different when you are actually looking at schools to play for and attend.
I knew what to look for and what I wanted out of a school and program. During my first visit at Michigan, I had an immediate connection with the coaching staff. I fell in love with the campus and Ann Arbor.
Every meeting we had during that visit (academic, nutrition, strength and conditioning) made me feel like “this is it”. I told my mom during that first visit, “This is the one.” I knew I had found my future home.
I committed early because I was so confident it was the right decision and there was no need to look further. Each visit we have been on just validates I am making the right choice.
The Michigan fan base has been amazing and has shown nothing but love from the day I committed. I feel like Michigan is the complete package — a strong football tradition with amazing coaches, strong academics with a huge alumni network, the best strength and conditioning program, the best fan base in college football and well represented with players in the NFL.
I will get a degree from an excellent school, be pushed as an athlete and become a better man. I know it’s a perfect fit for me. To be able to sign with Michigan and get a degree from such a high level academic school, while playing football at a top program, is such a blessing. I am thankful and grateful for everyone that helped me get to this day.
