DNA Collectibles is new on the scene. We’ve been watching to see what might come out of this Swiss operation and are pleased to see the company launch with such a rare and interesting model: the Audi 200 Avant. “Avant” is Audi speak for its sport-wagon body style, and in the 20V Quattro version’s case, Audi went heavy on the “sport.” Just 300 Avants were imported to the United States, equipped with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system and 20-valve turbocharged 2.2L 5-cylinder motor. That odd arrangement was good for 217hp, and with just 3,300 pounds to pull around, it had the power-toweight ratio of a contemporary V-8 Mustang! DNA’s resin model looks to have captured the rounded angularity of the 200 styling and the unusual sloping rear glass of the wagon. There is also nice detail on the roof rails, wipers, and headlight lenses. This is a quirky but undeniably cool piece. We can’t wait to see what the company comes up with next!
