1968 marked the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Chevy Truck in 1918, and another 50 years on that ’68 C10 has become a piece of history in its own right. The 2nd-generation C/K had debuted in 1967 but ’68 saw the introduction of the 396 big block option. Collectors have come to prize the 2-wheel-drive short-box C10, particularly in the flat-fendered “fleetside” body style. That’s the version Auto World has chosen to commemorate with its new release. Painted in a lovely shade of Fawn Beige Metallic with white rocker panels and top, the C10 has been dressed up in mild streetmachine attire, wearing 5-spoke chrome mag wheels with wider tires. Inside, a column-shifted manual transmission and a pair of white bucket seats are the highlights, while underhood sits a smallblock Chevy sporting an aftermarket dual-quad manifold and chrome valve covers. It’s a fitting tribute to 100 years of Chevy Truck utility and style.
