Massey Ferguson 1150 and Allis-Chalmers D15 Tractors
1:16 | $70 (1150); $84 (D15)
The merger of Canadian Massey and British Ferguson companies, together with several smaller acquisitions, made MasseyFerguson best-selling tractor brand starting in 1962. But it coveted a larger share of the North American market, and to do that it needed a larger, more powerful line: the MF 1150. Powered by a big 8.3L Perkins Diesel V-8 making 540lb-ft of torque through a burly 12-speed transmission, it had the grunt to pull a 7-bottom plow at 7mph—useful speed for large North American farms. The Allis-Chalmers D15 was the last D-series (built until 1969), and one of the most versatile and user-friendly, with available power steering and a hand-operated shift-on-the-go clutch. SpecCast is offering both tractors in nicely detailed 1:16 scale diecast, with authentic paint and emblems. The 1150 comes fitted with a radio while the D15 carries a loader bucket on the front.
