THE CHEVRO­LET Colorado and GMC Canyon con­tinue in 2019 with just mi­nor changes. But can you blame them when they live in a seg­ment of one? The duo of mid­size trucks are the only mod­els in their class to of­fer a diesel-en­gine op­tion, a 2.8L Du­ra­max I-4 that puts out 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. If you’re look­ing for a good al­laround pickup with some tow­ing ca­pac­ity, the Colorado can be op­tioned to pull up to 7,700 pounds (rear-wheel drive, crew cab). The diesel is only avail­able in crew cab mod­els but en­ables them to get an im­pres­sive 22 city/30 high­way mpg with rear-wheel drive and 20/28 when opt­ing for four-wheel drive.
